There's no place like home, just ask Doni Nahmias. We spoke to the Founder and Creative Director of Nahmias about how his California roots inspired our new collaboration: The Summerland Exclusive Capsule, launching at Wholesale Replica Handbag 's Rosewood Miramar Beach pop-up. 

Wholesale Replica Handbag : We love your new nine-piece capsule, named after your hometown in California. Describe Summerland in three words.

DONI NAHMIAS: Sunshine, home, nostalgic. 

TW: The capsule's launch kicked off our Rosewood Miramar Beach summer pop-up. For anyone visiting the area for the first time, what are your top three things to see and do in Santa Barbara? 

DN: Rosewood Hotel is a must and the most beautiful property, Douglas Family Preserve for a beautiful sunset view and walk, and Butterfly Beach.

TW: How do your travels influence your designs?

DN: Traveling has given me a new lens and perspective on designs. There is endless opportunities of creations. I'm so fortunate to be inspired by different places and cultures but always being able to put my California DNA into the designs and what I'm influenced by. 

TW: How do you curate your wardrobe for a trip?

DN: Start with my basics, and then think about the places I'll be and how some more elevated ready-to-wear pieces can come into play for different days or plans. 

TW: What does the term 'wardrobe staple' mean to you?

DN: Something that can be worn with everything in your closet. Easy to wear and easy to pair.

TW: What pieces are you packing on your next trip?

DN: Summerland sweater, jorts, Summerland trucker hat, and black tees. 

TW: In your opinion, what makes a hoodie or sweats a 'perfect, go-to' piece? What is your favorite way to style these pieces?

DN: It always comes down to the fit and the feel. The fabric needs to lay nicely and have a soft hand that can be cozy, comfortable, and not too heavy. The fit is very important so it can be styled in multiple ways whether you want to dress it up or down. Hoodies can be layered in an elevated way, or you can get comfortable in sweats and a tee and be on your way. The sweats need to stack nicely and not be too wide or tapered, the hoodie can't be too long or too cropped and it's important to find the perfect balance. We are always continuing to perfect our hoodies and sweats every season. 

TW: What's your favorite keepsake from your travels?

DN: An open mind. :) 

TW: What's next for Nahmias?

DN: Continue to build the brand and categories, work on new marketing ideas and activations. Expand to women's soon ;) and open up our own retail flagship in due time!
